Avoiding the rock, however, puts him square in the hard place as the #1 SE dives down onto his tail and fires: luckily for the German nothing important is hit, but the mechanics will have some patching to do! The observer's fire goes wide. The Pfalz has his eyes on the #2 Britisher and makes a right turn to face him. The German leader picks his opposite as target and spins the nimble triplane around to come to the Halb's rescue.
